Important Information - Clarification to Exclusions

The Insurers, (being various Lloyd’s syndicates as referenced on the previous page), has recently undertaken a review of it’s policy terms and following feedback it has received, a number of amendments have been made to the policy terms in order to provide greater clarity. We have listed below the important revisions that may affect you.

Clarification to “Exclusions” Section of the Certificate wording:

I
n the event that your policy specifies cover for loss (refer Section 1 “The Insurance”) and includes the exclusion “Mysterious disappearance of the Telephone” this exclusion shall now be adjusted by the Administrator in accordance with the following replacement exclusion definition:

“Loss where the circumstances of the loss cannot be clearly identified, i.e., where You are unable to confirm the time and place of the loss”.

However, unless your policy specifies cover for the peril of loss then “Mysterious disappearance” has been clarified by the Insurer as being an event which does not constitute a theft incident and therefore a claim will be adjusted by the Administrator in accordance with this understanding.

Where the exclusion “Any failure due to date-related problems” appears, this is no longer applicable.

Where the exclusion “Any consequential loss whatsoever” appears, the following rewording will be applied:

You are not covered for any other costs that are caused by the event which led to Your claim, unless specifically stated in this Certificate”.

As per your Certificate of Insurance your policy bears an excess. The excess amount applicable to your claim would be noted on your claim form. Citymain Administrators Ltd collects your insurance premium and, where applicable, excess payment as an agent of the Insurer and we would advise you that the Syndicate at Lloyd’s responsible for underwriting your insurance is Lloyd’s Syndicate 5820. It’s registered office is Jubilee Managing Agency Limited, Sidcup House, 12-18 Station Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA15 7EX and it is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, entered on their register under number 226696.
