SpectProtect is first aid for spectacles. Many people rely heavily on either one pair or a favourite pair of spectacles and not being able to use them can be extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Our customer care team are technically competent in all aspects of insurance claim handling and appreciate that when it comes to the everyday necessities like spectacles, you need a really fast and efficient service to ensure your spectacles are back to you in record time.
How will my premium be collected? Your premium is collected each month by direct debit.
When does my insurance cover commence? Providing you have agreed to purchase the insurance option, your spectacles are covered from the date you purchased your spectacles. The first three months are free. Cover continues from month four onwards subject to you having paid the monthly premium by direct debit.
Am I able to benefit from this insurance if I live outside the UK? Regretfully, the coverage is only available to those people who are permanently resident in the UK. If you reside in any other country such as the United States, we regret that we are not able to provide insurance. In you are a UK permanent resident, you are covered for up to 30 days world-wide in any one year.
What am I covered for? This policy covers you for Theft and Accidental Damage
Why shouldn’t I cover this under my household insurance? You have a dedicated insurance policy especially for spectacles ensuring rapid replacement or repair of your spectacles once your claim has been accepted. Household policies often have a much higher excess and a claim for your spectacles will more than likely affect your no claims bonus.
How do I obtain a claim form? You should either contact us using the claim line number which is detailed on your policy document or you can telephone our Customer Care Centre on : 0844 576 2300
How long is my claim likely to take? All paperwork is processed in our office on the same day as it is received. If you are expecting a replacement item, please allow 3 working days. For repairs, please allow 10 working days.
